Unified Communications
Unified Communications is the integration of non real-time communication services, such as unified messaging (voicemail, e-mail, SMS and fax), with real-time communication services such as IM, presence information, IP telephony, video conferencing, call control and speech control. Unified Communications, therefore, is not a single product, but a set of products that provides a consistent user interface and user experience across multiple devices and media types.
Unified Communications also refers to business process integration, i.e. to simplify and integrate all forms of communications to optimise business processes, manage flows and eliminate device and media dependencies.
